F.A.Q
How will it help with better training?
Success is about progression so we created a format where you can divide training into more progressions. Each level contains interactive training guides, knowledge checks, and training videos you can add.
Beginner (Basics)– understanding the basics and developing building blocks of knowledge to set employees up for the next level of progression of their skills.
Example: Host understanding table number and how to rotate tables between servers
Immediate (Points of Efficiency) – understanding the ins and outs of the position, pacing yourself and your area, and developing active communication skills between guests and employees.
Example: Hosts understanding how each server is doing during the operation and pacing them out accordingly, and doing host side work through the shift such as planning ahead on seating, rolling silverware, greeting/degreeting guests in a timely manner, etc.
Advanced (Teamwork)– Understanding how your positions affects other positions and developing synergy between the other positions.
Example: Host pacing out kitchen properly based on open count and going on a wait as needed to pace the rushes, host keep the seating board up to date for bussers and helping bussers as needed, hosts helping each other out at the host stand so they can teamwork host side work through the shift.
How will it help with monitoring employee progress?
The employee training guides let employees be aware of what they have learned and what they still need to learn and develop, acting like a syllabus to give a sense of direction. In combination with the knowledge checks, employers can see their progression and set goals and coach employees to get them to the next progression. The point based positive reinforcement allows employees and employers to give points and send words of encouragement for going the extra mile and for progression which establishes better team morale and establishes a sense of camaraderie.
